About Me

American college student traveling through Europe. Going into my senior year at the University of Oklahoma and studying Environmental Sustainability. Also have a minor in Spanish (conversational but fluent might be pushing it to be honest) and I play trumpet in the jazz and marching band at my university.
I enjoy traveling, photography, running, reading, being outdoors, drawing, sleeping, meeting new people, and making the most of my being. I'm also a huge sports fan (college basketball and football - though I find other sports fascinating!). I consider myself to be easygoing, friendly, curious, adventurous, and easy to get along with.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To have an authentic experience with new friends while traveling. Through these friendships, I hope to make the world a smaller place. I have met countless new people with whom I alreasy have a previous connection, whether that be a mutual friend or an interest or study. Also I want to run across the world! Have only accomplished running in a few countries, but I hope to run in new places and be able to experience them at dawn, when the city or countryside gives a completely difference experience - at this time people have less of an impact on the experience and the landscape/cityscape sings.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Alternative, Hip Hop, Pop - Vampire Weekend, Head and the Heart, Portugal the Man, Glass Animals, Alt-J, Lil Dicky, Drake, Ra Ra Riot, Panic! at the Disco, Lumineers, Kanye, Imagine Dragons, etc - I love all music (with few exceptions to country and metal) and can find things I enjoy about every genre
Books: Fiction and Historical - Harry Potter series, The Alchemist, The Kite Runner, The Art of Racing in the Rain (not a deep book, but one about a man through his dog's eyes - I highly recommend if you're a dog person and want a good cry).
Movies/TV Shows: Action/Adventure, Horror/Thriller, Sci-fi, and Documentary - Love a good thrill, a good laugh, or accurate information about a subject I'm interested in
Not super into the tele due to a lack of time, but a few series that I always go to when I have a break are Rick and Morty, Arrested Development, Dexter, This Is Us, Candle Cove, Stranger Things, House of Cards, American Horror Story, Weeds, The Walking Dead, etc

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed a 14,000 ft mountain, ran a half marathon in remembrance of others, cliff dived into the Adriatic Sea, swam to an island in the Atlantic, ran with the bulls, skied without falling, and finally stopped overcooking my eggs.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to teach people how to enjoy life and maintain a positive outlook. I've had trouble with this recently but always manage to reorient myself and look at situations from a different perspective, giving me a more positive outlook.

I want to learn like a child - curious and open to learning new things, ideas, cultures, and viewpoints. Only with the viewpoints of others can I further my understanding of the world.

I want to share experiences in new places with new people. I feel that a new city can only offer so much in the way of tourist sights and city bites - without the context of its people, you can't get the true experience.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I didn't have much space or near enough confidence in the travel process to bring my trumpet to Europe, but I would love to jam. I love classical and jazz music, or just grooving to a guitar or ukulele. I can also share knowledge about my perspective on things such as American politics, education, and what I am personally involved in. Though my humor may be cheesy, I do have a small arsenal of dad jokes and puns to share as well, if you find that you want to impress/annoy your friends at your next gathering.
