About Me

I've been living a semi-nomadic life since 2014, although nowadays I'm trying to spend most of the year between Argentina and Spain and maybe settle down at some point. Having also spent a respectable amount of time in Canada, Ireland and Australia (in that order), I can say all three have a special place in my heart as well.

In the past few years I have tried my best to travel with a purpose, rather than to mindlessly tick off countries or places from a "bucket list". Still believe in the concept/idea of travelling as a way to improve myself and become a better person, sharing my knowledge with others in the process, and because it makes me feel alive.

I would describe myself as an easy-going and laid back person. Typically have a balanced/diplomatic view about most things, try to avoid conflict, and be open (and enjoy listening) to others' stories and opinions. Also really enjoy making people laugh :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Even though the current CS is not what it once used to be (and unfortunately I'm not a big fan of the direction it has taken in the past few years), I owe some of my best and happiest memories to this app, as well as meeting super interesting and inspiring individuals through it. As long as people keep using CS, I'll probably do so as well :)

Interests

Travelling (of course), going outdoors, hiking, running, music, football (soccer), old video games (8bit to 64bit era), and cryptocurrencies (like Bitcoin).

Music, Movies, and Books

I consider myself an avid music listener and cinephile. Used to read a lot in my younger years but unfortunately not so much nowadays.

I am very open when it comes to music, although I have a slight preference for rock and metal, especially progressive or alternative variants. Innovation and complexity are two of the things I value the most when listening to new music. Some of my favorite artists are: Tool, Opeth, Dream Theater, Modest Mouse, Built to Spill, Arcade Fire, Smashing Pumpkins, Aphex Twin, M83, Massive Attack, Portishead, The Flaming Lips, Sigur Rós, Radiohead, Crystal Castles, Pearl Jam, The Mars Volta. Learning piano has been on my bucket list for too many years already and I'm slowly starting to work on it (still consider myself a beginner, though).

Sci-fi, dramas and anything thought-provoking are the types of movies I usually enjoy watching. Here's a few of my favorites: Blade Runner, Memento, The Shawshank Redemption, 12 Monkeys, Gladiator, Fight Club, The Dark Knight, Pulp Fiction, Matrix, Minority Report, The Truman Show, Groundhog Day, No Country for Old Men, Before Sunrise/Sunset/Midnight. As for series... Breaking Bad easily tops my list and really doubt any other one will ever take that place :)

Regarding books... can only say the last "big" thing I read, more than ten years ago, was the Song of Ice and Fire saga (and it was such a tragedy how the GOT writers butchered the TV series...)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Let's have a drink and I'll tell you about some of these :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like to think I'm a good conversationalist, so hopefully an engaging (and/or), memorable discussion. Have a few interesting stories about my travel experiences as well. Maybe teach you how to play a couple basic songs on the piano. And last but not least... if you're trying to learn some Spanish (or English, if you're not a native speaker), I can definitely assist :)
