Overview
About Me
I love to travel and see as much of the world as possible, and especially encounter people from all walks of life. I think the best way to make the world a more peaceful place, with less prejudices and more understanding, is to get to know how people around the world live and think. For that reason I love to travel slow and also go to places off the grid, which would not be found in any guide and might not be of interest to many people.
Some background info:
I am from Berlin, Germany, but I have also lived in Vancouver as well as in Lancaster, UK. I spent roughly the last 9 years studying (quantum physics) and just recently finished.
I now have to figure out what to do with life, and the best thing that came to mind was traveling around and seeing the world (not a bad life plan I guess!). For now I want to see and explore the South American continent, learn, meet locals and improve my Spanish on the run.
Besides traveling, I love playing and listening to music, cycling (have done race cycling for quite a while), hiking, skiing, talking politics and in general meeting people from all over. And contrary to popular opinion, (some) physicists love to and can party quite well ;-)
Furthermore, I am relaxed and easygoing, and my German genes force me to be clean also.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am quite new to Couchsurfing, but heard a lot of great things about it. It seems like a great way to get around and meet people on the way! So far my way of meeting people has been mostly via hitchhiking, which is my preferred mode of travel.
