About Me

Bookish. Mostly vegan. Queer, feminist, owner of too many red dresses. I somehow fell in with a beardy queer man and started a family. Currently working to find a purpose for red dresses and time for queer culture while keeping a toddler happy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm coming back to couchsurfing after a few years unable to host due to mouldy flats and/or screaming offspring. Now I'm in possession of a half-refurbished house with a leaking roof, a toddler and a scrubby allotment. They aren't glamorous and often they're not very clean, but you're welcome to them!

Interests

I like very dingy pubs, good coffee, red shoes, baking bread, depressing music, Radio 4, Bollywood films and the feeling of arriving in a new place.

Music, Movies, and Books

Recently loved Sense8, The Good Place, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Am currently reading Octavia Butler (she predicted everything!), haunted by N K Jeminsin.

I mostly listen to Hamilton because it's the cd that's in the car. My husband was in a semi-successful metal band. The little monster is a fan of Incy Wincey Spider and Queen.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got drenched watching the rain fall on the Humble Administrator's Garden in Suzhou. I spotted a new Banksy in Bethlehem. I found myself on a small island North of Orkney for Burns' Night one year, and spent the night drinking whisky with the island's fifty inhabitants.

Teach, Learn, Share

Do you want to know how to knit? Can you show me how to turn my allotment into a permaculture paradise?

What I Can Share with Hosts

Would you like a jar of sourdough starter?
