About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Have fun, see the world, meet lots of awesome people, keep myself busy

ABOUT ME

I was born in Mauritius and have lived in South Africa and England
After arriving in the UK in 2001, I've done a fair amount of travelling and absolutely caught the bug!
I like to exercise on a regular basis (cycling/skiing/snowboarding/rock climbing/roller blading), and when the conditions are right, I go kitesurfing too
While I was living in London, I was commuting to work on my road bike and avoided public transport as much as possible
I prefer healthy eating, and organic/vegeterian food, but I'm not a vegetarian as such. And I have a sweet tooth and often can't resist cakes!
I tend to go out for tapas with friends regularly and been doing plenty of rock climbing recently
I love animals, especially dogs, but we have a small cat in the house now, and he's awesome, but very naughty when he feels like it!

PHILOSOPHY

Live life to the full and try not to waste too much time worrying about things

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've only hosted once but hoping to host more people in the future

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to couchsurfing
My two previous flatmates have been members for a while (Reshma Lobo and Mark/WEBBASE) and have been telling me all about it, so I was eager to join this great community
I'm looking forward to meeting lots of new people through couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books

To name but a few:
Movies:
Up, The Matrix (the first one only), True Romance, Mars Attacks, The Usual Suspects, Seven, Pulp Fiction, Natural Born Killers, Dobermann, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, The Big Lebowski, La Haine, Horton hears a who, Spirited Away, Kung Fun Panda, Despicable Me, Rango, Rio
Japanese anime series: Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, Gintama, Great Teacher Onizuka, Samurai Champloo, Death Note, Mushishi

Books:
I don't have any favourite books as such, I used to prefer factual, crazy theories, controversial stuff, conspiracy theories, but more recently I got more into some more casual reading. I recently read "Next" and "Prey" from Michael Crichton, and I thought they were both pretty good reads. Latest one "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" was great!

Music:
All types including reggae/dub, hip hop, indie/alternative, metal, chilled, basically music to fit the mood I'm in at the time!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trying to surf at Ocean beach in San Francisco before finding out much later that it's a fairly dangerous place to surf and full of sharks!
Kitesurfing near the Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco
Snowboarding on a volcano in New Zealand
Hiking through a rainforest along the Fox glacier in New Zealand, and then the hike on the glacier itself
Freeriding on Goat's Eye mountain in Sunshine Village, Canada and in the Symphony Bowl in Whistler, Canada
