ABOUT ME

I've grown up with music all around, and now I've become an electronics engineer and PhD.
After working for one year and a half as an engineer, I've decided to move back to research. Since 2010 I'm now a postdoctoral researcher in cognitive Neurosciences and I'm particularly interested in the neural basis of music.

PHILOSOPHY

Listen, see, and understand!

History and melodies tell a story. Our consciousness, via our perception, makes this story exist and meaningful. The personal experience of music, makes us grows, makes us think about who and what we are, and were used to be.

I'm willing to meet many people from all over the world..Make a better and safer world where people can trust each other

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

2007 / 2008 : I have hosted two americans, and one guy from Romania, three surfers within 2 days, just one week after having subscribed to CS :)
I have traveled 10 days to Portugal and surfed there.

2009 :
I had a very good couch surfing experience in United Arab Emirates where I met many CSers at a big Couch Surfing meeting in Dubai, with some of them actually became good friends.

2010 : I surfed a couch while looking for a flat to move in Warsaw, my host eventually became a good friend :-).

2011 : With a friend we went to visit Krakow and we had a very good CS experience there.
Surfed near London in June.
Surfed in Montpellier in December.
Hosted in my flat in Warsaw.

2012 : Surfed in Montpellier in January.

2013 : started to host again in Leipzig.

2014-2015: had a regular CSer at home who became a good friend. Wait, or was it the other way around ? :)

End 2015 : started having couchsurfers again in Brest !

Interests

I LOVE music, I'm listening to music all the time.. I love to participate to jazz jam sessions. I play drums, vibraphone (www.youtube.com/nicofarr and www.youtube.com/lightmotif although this last one is getting old now!), piano, violin..

Music, Movies, and Books

Well let s talk about it in person ok ? I don't like much being filed as " liking something".

I would prefer to say that I like talking about it and connecting it to moments in life..

But here as some starting points / keywords..

Jazz (it s a whole century of history now, with many different musics in it which I like for the most part.. ).... I love old swing, but also bebop, hardbop, free jazz, electric jazz from the 70's...
I also love more modern stuff. Recently I got to know a little bit more about the Berlin local scene..
let's talk about it if you want, it should be simpler !

Funk / Jazz Funk / Fusion..

Progressive / psychedelic / experimental rock (Genesis, Yes, King Crimson, Transatlantic, The flower kings, Neal Morse, Pink Floyd, Dream Theater, Mogwai, ISIS, ...)

.. and ultimately, a mix of all this ! :-)

Playing "Shine on you crazy diamond" with my prog rock band in 2001, below fireworks, during my brother's wedding.

I can teach music, drums, percussion, a little bit of piano, as long as music theory and Jazz practice...
