Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travel, meeting new people, helping communities , free food, stay and travel.
I cannot deny Couchsurfing is a great platform to connect with other travellers, hosts, groups, events and everything related to travel.
I thought Couchsurfing is a safe place and people are here to genuinely host without expectations specially when it’s clearly mentioned on the profile; but I have come across profiles and individuals who purposely say that they want to host but then either invite you and give a bad experience or just take details from you of whether you’re travelling solo or with someone or ask for phone number and then decline the request. I don’t think it matters to anybody what the choice of travel of any individual is - if you are supportive of the travel community and genuinely want to host you should just host and not ask stupid irrelevant questions.
Are you dumb enough not to understand when a person mentions number of people as 1? Then why do you need the person’s WhatsApp number to speak and ask the same thing again and then decline? When the person says 2, it means the person is going to get someone along - a lover, a friend it could be anyone. I think Couchsurfing made couch requests very self explanatory and easy to process.
Grow up and don’t spoil the Couchsurfing community experience!
