I used to have 68 references idk where like 13 went? New CS is weird not sure I get it all. Anyway I have been hosting and surfing for 6 years and I know what CS is really about, connecting with other travelers and creating friendships. Ive met absolutely amazing people on CS and I feel like my references reflect that.

philosophy- (cause im an original surfer!)

as best described in oh so many quotes "so many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, conservatism, all of which may appear to give one piece of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. the very basic core of a mans living spirit is his passion for adventure. the joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun." - christopher mccandless from the book into the wild "i will go to my grave claiming that the less you spend, the more you enjoy, the more authentic the experience is, the more profound, the more exciting, the more unexpected."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hosted while I lived in California and New Zealand I participate by sharing my time with other people to create friendships. Time is the most precious thing we can give someone.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
The best couchsurfing experience I had was in Ohio. I ended up leaving my friend on a roadtrip to stay an extra couple days because I met wonderful people. Couchsurfing always seems to do that, make people stay in a place for longer than they expected. Nothing but positive things to say. The stories have been amazing really nothing you could ever know if it wasn't for this incredible concept. Giving more than you take is just wonderful in every aspect of life. Another amazing experience ive had in crete was couchsurfing off the grid for a week, we had a light, stream water and a stove and thats about it. we hiked rockclimbed and swam in the ocean almost every day, it was the simple, most beautiful life
