About Me

Rookie backpacker with absolutely no plan.

Environmentalist. Wine drinker.

Basically a socialist-feminist that is absolutely petrified of birds but loves coffee, pastries and deep conversations.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Culture - I don’t think you can truly experience a country until you have explored the culture though a local’s perspective.

Music, Movies, and Books

Bonobo - No reason album is AMAZING. Deep house from the 90’s is another go to! Big fan of soul and jazz too. Anything I can hum or dance like an idiot to I highly rate. Recently purchased a turn table so been vibing to some eighties classics.

I love any movie that I can spend the next two days of my life over analysing the characters, dialogue, plot and music choices really...

Books are my actual life - I will give everything a try, but my favourite book is Margaret Mitchel's Gone With the Wind. And George Orwell’s 1984.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When travelling Indonesia I stayed at a homestay on Lombok Island, in the village of Tete Batu. Whilst staying there it was a local girl's wedding so the family invited me along to attend the ceremony. I got the opportunity to wear the traditional dress and have my hair and make-up done before parading through the village and attending the service in the rice fields by her home.

Hitchhiked for the first time in Japan!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love making people laugh and sharing my experiences and knowledge of life with those willing to listen.

I have an undergraduate degree in law so love a good challenging debate.

Cooking is an important part of my culture back home in Northern Ireland, if we have time (and the ingredients) I would love to cook for you.
