Overview
About Me
I started to travel by bike two years ago and fell in love with it. In this way I can reach places that I wouldn't normally see, such small villages or places that are not touristic at all, giving me the unique chance to connect to locals and understand how they live. I like the mental challenge of cycling, where a bit of suffering opens up to great rewards.
I usually travel very low budget, less than 10$ per day, camping is the main option, but a warm shower, good company, sharing a dinner a stories of travel is what brings me here to Couchsurfing.
During my non-travelling life I work as a researcher in black hole physics and that's why I have moved in many different places. I like to cook, to play music (percussion and guitar), to play chess and discuss about life!
I have more reviews on my Warmshowers profile, which I have used more extensively in the past.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I travel I am very curious to connect with the people who live in the place I am visiting. I love casual encounters, but at the same time it's also interesting to see the point of view of other travellers when they are in their own home. It adds new ingredients to the discovery of a country.

Music, Movies, and Books
I feel that music is one of the most important aspects of my life. It's the most direct form of art which can reach everyone, instantly. I listen to a ton of progressive rock, then hard rock, heavy metal, jazz, italian singer-songwriter, balkan music, very little rap and electronic. I am recently delving more into latinoamerican music (I know, it's huge), mainly cumbia and bolero.
My favourite writers are Terzani, Eco, Garcia-Marquez, Carrere, Borges, Dumas, and in the past I have read a lot of fantasy books.
I am pretty basic with cinema, but I was trying recently to discover more European films. I got very impressed by Kusturica and Almodovar
Teach, Learn, Share
I can try to explain in simple words what my job is about, if you are interested.
I am always up to hear your vision about the world, politics, climate, migrations, society and life in general. We never stop to learn and I don't want to have my opinions carved in stone.
Let's share some good moments! For me cooking for others it's one of the most valuables forms of sharing. If we can play some music on top of it, then we reach perfection!
