I'm from Ireland and have been teaching English in Japan for over 2 years. I've moved around Japan a little and have been in Hiroshima for almost 1 year. I'm really enjoying my life in Japan but I'm excited about visiting new places too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have heard of my friends having really good experiences with couchsurfing. While on a trip in Malaysia I met some locals and other tourists who strongly recommended couchsurfing as a great way to meet new people and get to know about an area. I want to have the chance to show people what there is to see and do around my current home of Hiroshima and hopefully meet some interesting people while doing so.

Interests

In winter I enjoy snowboarding and in summer hiking is fun. I play touch rugby for my local team and enjoy taking part in various sports. I like hanging out with friends for adventures, festivals or for dinner and drinks.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: always changing but I tend to lean towards rock/ indie stuff
Movies: I can't think of a favourite - I like watching movies of most genre. I can enjoy the oldies and the modern stuff!
Books: I go through phases, I'm currently on a teen fiction adventure, reading The Mortal Instruments at the moment

I can show you around my city and/ or give you advice about visiting Hiroshima and Japan. I enjoy learning about other cultures too so it would be fun to chat and share information about our travels/ homes. I'm new to couchsurfing so don't know how this usually goes!
