About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Reducing my Carbon Foot Print!

ABOUT ME

Hey! My name is Nicola and I was born and grew up in Vienna, the capital of Austria.
I am currently studying Environmental Science at the University of Georgia. Before coming here I finished a Bachelor's degree in Tourism Management in Angers, France. As I like to travel, see new places and both learn new languages and experience new cultures I thought that couch surfing would be a great way to experience a new way of traveling.
I am also sure that staying with people is much better to experience new cities and cultures then staying at a hotel or youth hostel.

I am very concerned with sustainability issues and love meeting people who care about our planet :) There are so many different ways to improve one's life (and other people's life) by adapting a more sustainable lifestyle - starting with taking the bike to avoiding eating meat and growing own veggies in the backyard - I love all of that!

PHILOSOPHY

The head is round so the thinking can change its direction!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I already surfed in France, Spain, Germany, Finland, the Netherlands and Belgium. I am not able to host right now, since I live on campus, but I will once I am back home in Vienna :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I couch surfed in France, Germany, Spain, Finland, the Netherlands and Belgium. I met a lot of totally different people through the website and experienced a new way to traveling!

Interests

My main interest in life is to see as many different places around the world as somehow possible and meet different people in order to learn from them and share experiences.
When I travel it is essential to me that I travel in a sustainable way and respect all the places I go to and the new cultures I am introduced to - I would never stay at a Hilton Hotel!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I experienced plenty of fantastic things in Thailand as I had the advantage to know people there so it was the first foreign country I could experience together with natives, which is maybe why I was able to find so many magic places.

Also last summer I went to an original finnish sauna in the summer cottage of a friend in finnland. it was AMAZING!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I could always teach you some German if you are interested in that. Besides that there are some traditional Austrian dishes I can cook quite well :) aaaand I know how to dance the Viennese Walz!

Countries I’ve Visited
