About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I ran away from home to travel the world.

ABOUT ME

I love travelling, reading, eating good food and drinking good wine, heading to the beach and learning about different countries and cultures.

I'm currently in London midway through a year's trip around the world... a bit of a sabbatical to figure out what I want to do when I grow up!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined because I like the philosophy and am looking have enjoyed travelling vicariously this year by meeting people from around the world.

Am about to take the plunge into being a guest in the near future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted people from the Netherlands, Indonesia, Germany, the UK, the US and France... I am hoping to be a guest in the near future!

Interests

Swimming, reading, writing, working (sadly), spending time with friends and family. And travelling, naturally!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite movies include Serenity, Shaun of the Dead, Rebecca and Say Anything. I'll watch most things from arthouse to action.

Some favourite authors of mine are Jane Austen and Neil Gaiman and I also love reading travel guides (then usually ignoring them completely when on the road).

Music - I've recently developed a fondness for Leonard Cohen and I loved seeing Jane's Addiction and Faith No More last year (yes, I was a teenager in the '90s!).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jumping out of a plane (with a parachute, of course!) would have to rank up there as the most amazing thing I've done. Drinking ouzo at a little cafe watching the sun set over the Temple of Poseidon at Sounion, near Athens, was amazing too, as was going for a swim in Lake Baikal in Siberia. One day, I'll make it to Antarctica!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always happy to share what I know about travelling, art, history, fashion designers and Australian politics... I won't claim to be an authority, but I do love to have a chat.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Fiji, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Mongolia, Montenegro, New Zealand, Portugal, Qatar, Russian Federation, Singapore, Slovenia, Switzerland, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Vanuatu

Countries I’ve Lived In
