About Me
Hi Everyone!
I'm Nicola.
I like beer and dancing and lots of other stuff too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been out of my home country Ireland for seven years now. I'm not really sure where to call home anymore. I lived in Paris for quite a long time, in a way I always feel at home there. Like all couch surfers, I love traveling but I also love living in different places. Getting on a plane or a bus to go somewhere unknown and try to start a life there for short term or long term is an amazing thing. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't,but that's life.
At the moment, I'm in South America. I was traveling with a friend but now I'm exploring Colombia on my own. I'm pretty new to Couch Surfing. My friend and I mostly stayed in hostels, which is also something everyone should experience because you definitely meet a lot of nice people and have lots of fun. Now, I want to Couch Surf as much as possible for a different experience. I love the idea of exploring a new place with a local, who I can practise my Spanish with and hopefully make a new friend. Once I settle again, I can't wait to be a host to many travellers! Happy travels to all :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I moved to Paris on my own when I was 19.
One time, I partied with The Eagles of Death Metal.
Hitch-hiking around Spain with VERY little money was a great experience.
Went to the Alps alone and completely unprepared with hopes of doing a ski season, with never skiing a day in my life. Spent five months working in Grenoble and learned how to snowboard(badly) but still :)
One time, I served Alan Rickman lunch. He's scary but cool.
Lived with a Berber family in Morocco during Ramadan. We all fasted until sunset, and the evening meal was always incredible. The women taught my friend and I how to cook, wash our clothes in the river and how to survive on next to nothing. That experience opened my eyes A LOT.
Sunrise over Sahara desert.
Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia, with my old friend Holly and new friend Eline, was one of the funnest and most beautiful trips ever!
Lived with a Peruvian family in Lima for six weeks. I taught the kids English, while they taught me Spanish and how to cook Peruvian dishes.
