About Me

Hola. My name is Nicolas. I live in San Andres Colombia, place where I happily grew up. After high school I went to Panama and studied there in a nautical academy to become seaman.
I think I am a very kind, natural, happy, friendly, easygoing, and positive person.

In this very small Caribbean island that I love with all my heart, I grew up fishing, snorkeling, and playing football. A lot of fun and adventures in a very happy and nice atmosphere.

I love my family and my friends.
I have an excellent relationship with my mother, sister and brother in law, who is actually like a brother to me. My father died when i was 10 years old.
My nephew and niece mean so much to me.

I used to work on cruise ships for 13 years and I had the opportunity to see a lot of places while working. Some of the countries I have visited from the list below; I could see only ports, sea side towns or coastal areas.

Me encanta el mate (I love Mate). Mate is a kind of south american Tea

I enjoy music
I love sea

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a big lover of Jamaican and caribbean music, such as reggae, since I grew up in the caribbean sea...
I enjoy latin music too, so do the american music.

My favorite movies are: My Octopus Teacher, The Greates Night in Pop, Back to the Future, Lord of the Rings, Slumdog Millionaire, and in general I enjoy watching nature documentaries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Backpacking in south America. It was really amazing. Lovely people! It blew my mind!

-Traveling with some childhood and neighborhood friends on a small fishing vessel when I was 16 years old (in 2001). Departing from San andres Island (Colombia) to Cartagena (Colombia). The trip was planned for a 3 day sailing but on the 2nd day the engine got broken and we drifted for 3 days (with no sight of land at all) until we were rescued. We arrived in Cartagena on the 6th day.

-Working at sea. Working on board cruise ships since 2009 until 2021

-Broke my knee while playing futbol in 2014 and spent 2.5 months in bed

- 2024, crossing the Pacific Ocean from Panama to French Polynesia on a very small boat, only 2 people on board

Teach, Learn, Share

I am very good at speaking slowly, clearly, understandable and patiently for those who are learning spanish. I like to teach and share my spanish and english
