À propos de moi
Hello! I’m an Army Special Forces veteran from Mexico, now enjoying the peaceful civilian life with my German wife in Ammersbek, near Hamburg. After 21 years of service, since my retirement I spend my days taking care of my home. I’m fluent in English, Spanish, and German, and I love connecting with people from different cultures and backgrounds. I’m passionate about cooking, animals, photography, and traveling, and I enjoy spending time relaxing at home.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe in the power of cultural exchange and making meaningful connections with people from around the world. Having traveled and lived in different places, I understand the value of a warm welcome and a comfortable place to stay. I’m excited to share our home with travelers and offer them a unique experience in a quiet, relaxing environment near Hamburg.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
Music:
My musical tastes span a wide range of genres, from grunge, rock, metal, and punk to electronic music and the timeless beauty of classical compositions. I enjoy everything from Beethoven and Bach to Black Sabbath, Alice in Chains, and Daft Punk. I appreciate music that resonates with emotion and creativity, no matter the genre.
Movies:
I’m a huge fan of both science fiction and fantasy films. I love smart, thought-provoking sci-fi like Arrival and Interstellar, as well as epic fantasy adventures like The Lord of the Rings. I also have a soft spot for goofy comedies and parodies, where I can just relax and laugh—Spaceballs and Monty Python are always on my watchlist.
Books:
When it comes to reading, I have a deep love for both science fiction and actual science. I’m a big fan of authors like Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, and J.R.R. Tolkien (The Lord of the Rings being one of my all-time favorites). I’m also fascinated by the real science behind the fiction, so you’ll often find me reading works by Neil deGrasse Tyson, Michio Kaku, Kip Thorne, and similar authors who explore the wonders of physics, astronomy, astrophysics, biology, and chemistry.
Series:
In the realm of TV series, I enjoy a mix of smart humor and irreverent comedy. Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Parks and Recreation, Archer, Beavis and Butt-Head, and South Park are some of my favorites. I love series that combine clever writing with a touch of silliness and satire.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
One of the most incredible experiences I’ve had was exploring Svalbard, an archipelago located in the Arctic Ocean and the closest settlement to the North Pole. During this Arctic adventure, I undertook expeditions across the island using dog-pulled sleighs and snowmobiles, navigating through temperatures as frigid as -30°C. I climbed glaciers and mountains, explored stunning ice caves, and even ventured into the narrow shafts of an abandoned coal mine.
The journey was highlighted by close encounters with some of the Arctic’s rarest wildlife. I saw walruses, Arctic foxes, reindeer, and even polar bears in their natural habitat. This adventure offered a profound appreciation for the raw beauty and resilience of life in one of the most extreme environments on Earth.
