Resumen
Sobre mí
My name is Nicolas Garza. I am 21 years old, born in raised in Albany, NY, which is the capital of the state of New York, NOT New York City :)
I am currently in undergraduate study for the pursuit of a bachelor's in finance and international business, formerly Economics. I earned a two-year ( associates) degree in Business Admin. straight out of high school. There is so much I would like to do, learn, see, and become in my professional career ; it's hard to know where to start.
Basically I have gone abroad from my home university in South Carolina ( where I live) and caught the travel bug pretty bad. I've been all over Europe, some of Central America, and Oceania ( Australia/New Zealand)
The world is such an interesting place & the concept that there is so many ways to live. So many languages, so much music, different food, traditions, and so, so much more.
I am always down for a good laugh and good eats, and certainly a good night out with good people who bring good energy, honesty and respect to the table.
There is so much more to me than you can put in a blurb on a website, and I would love to talk about it sometime with you.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
I heard about Couchsurfing a bit back from a few friends before going abroad. It sounded a bit crazy at first, so of course I was attracted to investigate.
I made a profile and started researching the concept. Needless to say, I am surprised and quite excited of how innovative and awesome people can be with the whole traveling thing. A random person in a place you are visiting opening up their doors to you, showing you around, giving you their time, and more so an experience, and at no hidden fee?! It’s crazy where we are going; knocking down barriers between countries where people once wouldn’t tread and now people are using technology to connect, meet-up, and essentially become close with each other. It’s a grand concept, really.
The only other method that I have found that allows people to meet as they do with Couchsurfing is just through hostels. Hostels are such a great opportunity to meet people from all over the world, see what they like and what they want to do with their life, and crazy ideas and concepts of how they are going to get there. Living in a hostel right as I got off the plane in Madrid ( my first semester studying away from the U.S.) turned out to be a great and important experience because it really opened me up to other people and I became more fascinated to see who they were and what they had to say, and then of course, sleep in the bunk above them a few hours later or so.
The reason why I am on Couchsurfing is because I have never tried something quite as radical as the program before, and would love to see what it’s all about, especially after reading about where it has taken people, the people ( hosts & travelers alike) they have connected with, and the extra color to their experience is enthralling. I look forward to tapping into it ☺
