About Me

I like to think of me as an easy-going, chill and interested person. I am always looking for adventure, especially the ones involving majestic nature and wildlife. I have had the chance to travel to many places around the world and my work as a biologist gives me the opportunity to see many other (sometimes very remote) fantastic places that I would love to make you discover around a cup of coffee/tea or a beer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a fellow traveler, I know that one way to travel is to actually go to places but also to hear stories from other. It is just a different kind, requiring a bit more imagination. I want to share my experience, help others to benefit from a comfortable and safe place to discover what my country has to offer. Also, I am eager to discover new cultures, new langages, new people. I haven't had the chance to welcome a Couchsurfer yet but can't wait for it !

Interests

I am passionated by our Nature and all the living creatures that can be found on our planet ! I always want to see more and learn more about these. I guess that I didn't become a biologist only out of luck :) I am especially thrilled when it comes to African wildlife and the never-ending pristine landscapes that this continent can offer. I try to capture these through my photography that I would be happy to share with you.
I am an experienced backpacker with multiple treks in Norway, Sweden, Belgium, Croatia in full autonomy for 1-15 days.
Winter in the mountains (that unfortunately we don't have in Belgium) must also be my absolute favourite season. The sheer thrill of skiing in deep powder, the sound when breaking fresh pristine snow and the nice feeling of exhaust at the end of a full day shredding the slopes are all feelings that give me pure joy.
It is difficult to share all my interest. There are new ones everyday :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- I lived in the middle of the Congo forest for 2 months.
- I have been charged by an elephant.... and a rhino (in the wild).
- I have run after lions.
- I experienced the calm of a Northern lake in the morning while on a canoe trip.
- I dived during the night followed by fish that could easily have me killed.
- I climbed mountains in the middle of the night while the sun was still up.
- I have discovered an unknown population of chimpanzees in the heart of the tropical forest
- I chase viruses such as Ebola, Coronavirus and Monkeypox as a job (ok... that's only a small part of my job but still...)
- I had hyenas chasing an antilope and killing it few meters away from me while on foot (in the wild)
So many mores that I would be happy to share!
