About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Level 4-1

ABOUT ME

I spent the first 15 years of my life playing videogames. Since then, I have been late for everything: I discovered grundge in the late nineties and when I thought I was ready to perform live, DJ's where already on the scene. Playstation and 3D graphics ruined my side-scrolling world.
At the university I studied Communication Sciences: not a smart move to find a job by any means, but I am still interested in languages, linguistics and literature (mostly from Latin-america and the Caribbean).
I would like to be considered as a cultural-ambassador from my country, so I am always pleased to satisfy your curiosity about my home land. I could even teach you some tango basics steps and to play Manu Chao songs on a south american guitar called "charango" (it is really easy, trust me). I travel always with yerba mate, a sort of infussion that tastes like tea but works more like a coffee.
WARNING: I really love Jorge Luis Borges. Do not mention this writer, unless you really want to hear me talk about him :)

PHILOSOPHY

Jürgen Habermas is my favorite philosopher. But I de also like very much Castoriadis, Foucault and Derrida. Update: now I am not very much into philosophy, I had enough.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like to welcome home people to practice the foreign languages I have been trying to learn. I would be very happy to host you if you speak German, Dutch, Russian, French, Arabic, etc. Requests from Spanish speaking people will not be considered as priority.
Copy and paste requests show lack of interest. I'll try to welcome you home even if I am busy, so please, take some time to read my profile and to write me a short personalized request :).
Sorry but, I can host just one person at a time.
It is always a pleasure to hear stories about different places and I like also enjoy telling stories about my country. I participate to Couchsurfing to show the others a part of my culture and I enjoy learning about another's one cultures. I often take part in language exchange gatherings, which I consider to be a very productive activity. I always travel with music, literature, photos, info and the traditional yerba-mate from Argentina to share with people abroad.

Interests

Going fishing with my father
Language and cultures in general
Literature
Love Piazzola's jazzy tango
I like playing the guitar and the "charango" (a sort of little south american guitar with 10 strings)
I love sports, football at first place (although I am not a good player for argentinian's standarts) I play good tennis and I used to teach it years ago.
Travelling to new places is less attractive than returning to the old-beloved ones.

Music, Movies, and Books

Maradona is a living God. My favorite writer is Jorge Luis Borges. He is definitely my hero. Other Argentinian writers I do admire are Ernesto Sábato and Julio Cortázar.
The best book I have ever read is "Cien años de soledad" (One hundred years of solitude) from the Colombian writer Gabriel García Márquez.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being at the hospital when my nephew came to this world.
Going fishing with my father.
