About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Walking a part of the GR129 (Bruges - Arlon) in Belgium (5 - 21 June 2021), starting in Thuin. Just by myself. Sleeping in my tent.
ABOUT ME
I'm Belgian, 31, living with the love my life (and my dog) in a farm-ish house on the countryside near Ghent. Recently (Feb '21) moved there coming from an apartment in the centre of Ghent, a very dynamic and vibrant medieval city. By day or by night: always alive. Even in covid times!
Besides my dog, I used to have 2 cats and 4 sheep at my parents' place. I once had a parakeet, a squirrel (poor thing, it was a gift...) and a dwarf hamster as well. Why though.
I've lived in the north of Norway for a while, which was amazing. I've travelled to a few places so far, mostly in Europe and mostly travelling around, from campsite to campsite, road tripping...
I've used Couchsurfing and airbnb in Norway, Poland, Germany, France, Holland, Finland and Sweden, all good experiences. Open-minded, social, easy-going.
I like reading, having a drink with friends in dark jazzy bars, spending time doing nothing with my girlfriend, listening to music and going to (small) festivals and concerts (I'm a big stoner rock, prog rock and post metal fan, but hey, I'm kind and I don't do drugs!).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Being open-minded, easy-going and unprejudiced. Would love to invite every single world citizen personally to my place to set up their tent and share drinks, thoughts and experiences.
Interests
Music, seeing the beauty in falling leaves, autumn walks, great parties, jazz, rock, metal, being a cynical elitist when it comes to music friends (just kidding), writing, reading, traveling, exploring, but also staying at home in jogging pants for a lazy day of doing nothing (and not feel guilty about it).

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: anything stoner/post/sludge/doom metal related, but add a good dose of prog, jazz, rock and roll and classic rock to that. Occasional electro, deep house, techno and ambient moments are very welcome at times too.
Films: Scarface, Mr. Nobody, Moonrise Kingdom, The Shining, Pulp Fiction, Inglourious Basterds, The Godfather Trilogy, The Departed, Into The Wild.
Books: The Shadow of The Wind (Carlos Ruiz Zafon) had me completely broken and in tears at times. The 2 books after that one as well. The Shock Doctrine (Naomi Klein), Freedom (Jonathan Franzen), Into The Wild (Jon Krakauer), What is the What (Dave Eggers) were rather good (well, or shocking) as well.
Like everyone: I'd like to spend some more time reading!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Polar lights in northern Norway, sunrise on an Indonesian volcano, skiing really fast off a steep mountain top, snow scootering in Canada, quitting my job, sharing your own musical creations in front of an audience, doing road trips with your best friend or girlfriend or a bunch of other people and just enjoying face-to-face conversations with music in the background and a fine beer.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A garden, a mattress, water, electricity and a good mood!
