PHILOSOPHY
Give something first. Be generous. The most you give the richest you are. Stay with an open mind. Never juge. Never compare your culture to others. Open your heart and enjoy. Think with a big picture. Stay enjoyed by little simple details.
My life became better the day i realized that : "everyone is doing his best". If he could have done better he would have done it. So let's stop asking people do things the way we would have done it. It's unfair for them, and a guarantee of big disapointment for us.
In the same way i turned my back to the concept of couple, for now (i'll change in the future, so who knows how i'll be thinking and feeling). I tryed it for 7 years, and it teached me a lot about it. I think it's an overselled concept and not fitting for everyone. This social pressure to be the perfect friend, the perfect lover, the perfect parent, to fill a hole in the heart of the other, to be supportive but not too much, to be admired but not too much, to stay sexy but without making the other one feeling insecure, change for him but stay the one he previously fell in love with. .. Too much for just one people. Too unfair and impossible for a majority.
My phylosophy is to not ask people to be more or better than they are actually, and share with them what we enjoy to share, no more. So i have great friends, great lovers, people i admire, people that are admiring me, people i help, people who are supporting me,... And this is good this way for me. If they want to be more it's great, but it's never an expectation from me.
Also, and it's important on CS, giving and offering is the only responsability of the giver. And there is nothing he should wait in return. Give is a one way process. You give, it's done ! You have to be satisfyed. If someone imply, in a way, that cause he offered something to someone, this one owes him something in return, he's not offering or giving. He's trying to take advantage of a situation he created on purpose. It's an unfair trade, cause the rules wasn't clear at first.
So always accept gifts, and never let anyone presures you in anyway with it. Take it and leave him alone with his bad intentions if he has some. :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on CS because my biggest pleasure is to share. Share place, share generosity, share meal, share things, share time, share ideas, share love, share time, share attention, share energy, share caring, ...
I trust in a generous world of sharing and I act to create it.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've travelled all over south of morroco staying in families with host from couchsurfing.
It has been a very powerful and amazing experience. I learn a lot about the reality and complexity of this country. And i made great friends. Love to do it again.
I also welcomed a lot of couchsurfers in my place. It have been a great experience. I like a lot having my door opened to travelers. It's like being back to the ancient time basic generosity with the foreign visitors. Share is a treasure.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I grew up in a very strict Jehovah's witness family. At the age of 22, with the help of friends, I freed myself from this coercitive group. After that, i worked with government people to reveal the reality of the life in it, especially for children. I witnessed into a government comission about cults and children. Jehovah's witness elders took me on court several times, including the higgest governmental court in France, and I won each time. I witnessed on tv, radio, news papers and wrote a book about that. Now I help people who are asking for support to leave sectarism.

Little recommendation for travellers :
- DON'T COPY AND PASTE YOUR MESSAGE to ask for a stay to many hosts without personalize it with precise details from the profile of the host. SHOW THAT YOU HAVE COMPLETELY READ THE PROFILE. Lots of host are adding some password in the middle of their profile to check if you read it all. If not they will not answer at all. Host, especialy in very touristic areas, recieve around 15 requests by day. So they see the difference between real personnal messages and pasted mecanical messages. And the second ones are not appreciated at all by hosts. "Yeah but you know it's taking so much time to read all this profiles". Hosts will open their home for you, for free, they will offer you meal, they'll give you time, the minimum you can do is take a little time of your own to read their profile and write a propper message. If you value your time more than giving attention to hosts, go to an hotel. If you dont have money for an hotel, then you pay with time. 😊
-About the message you send, DON'T TALK ABOUT YOURSELF, your profile is made for that, TALK ABOUT THE HOST AND WHY YOU CHOSE HIM PARTICULARY. Everyone wants to feel special, even host. If you're only talking about you, why you travel, why this destination for you, that you don't have money, that you need a place... All this things are common reasons for use couchsurfing... There is rarely something in here that will be unique enough to motivate a host to welcome you. So show the host you chose him on purpose, he will be more likely to pay attention to you and your request.
- In the same way, COMPLETE PROPERLY YOUR PROFILE. Add multiples pictures of you (preferably not only selfies, but pictures with other people showing that you are someone who care being with others and not a selfish one), and write about you : who you are, what do you like, why are you on couchsurfing, what you want to offer, give, share, what is your philosophy of life, ... host likes to know who they are going to have home. Empty profile are not giving trust. So here again, take a little time.
- Hosts like to know who is coming to their home, and i mean all the travelers of a group, so if you're travelling with friends, relatives, girlfriend, boyfriend, ... and if the other(s) doesn't have a couchsurfer account, add some pictures of your travel companion in your profile pictures (you can add a folder for that) and write a presentation for him in your profile informations. Better make him create a couchsurfer account on his own so he could present himself, write a recommendation also to the host, and the host will write recommendation for him. It's nice for everybody. If your travel companion wants to travel on his own on couchsurfing, he will need this recommendations also.
- About recommendations, BE ALWAYS THE FIRST TO WRITE A RECOMMENDATION ABOUT YOUR HOST and do it the day you left at the moment CS website/app is proposing you to do so. Don't delay, it's rude! Even if CS tell you that you have 14 days to do so don't wait this time. Even if you're moving to an other place, city, host, you can find 5 minutes to write a review (you can find easily so many time to work on your instagram feed 😘) . My advice, prepare it during your stay on a text file on your phone, like a little journal, so you wont forget anything special your host made to you, and it will be ready to post and you'll have your mind free for the next step of your trip. You enjoyed a pleasant moment at your host place, he offered you a place for free, and often far more than that, show your gratitude by writing a nice recommendation first, and write about all the good things he does for you (he picked up you at the airport, he made you discover a place, he took care of you cause you was sick, he cooked for you, he gave you his own bed, he welcomed you extra days,.... Talk about everything.), like for many other things bigger is better for comments, you'll make your host happy 😊. It's always sad for a host when a traveler left and wait days before writing a comment (often this late recommendations are short and without any color... Like two generic phrases..., worse than a bad postcard), or worse "forget" to write one. It happens often. CS is working on recommendations. It's the most important thing of the process for you and hosts. Be smart and nice, be diligent. :)
