Overview
About Me
From Quebec, Canada. I am funny, adventurous, silent, crazy, vulnerable, talkative, thoughtful, distracted or plain boring; it depends on the moment, and it depends on you. I like to take a step aside and look at everything from another angle. Photography, slowing down, great friends can lead you there. Let's go out to see the magical and unexpected.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I used CS a lot in Europe, Latin America and Asia, and hosted in Montreal, Kosovo, China, etc. As I will be travelling for the following months/years, my contribution to CS consists of being a nice guest and trying to share as much as I can with my hosts, especially if I know stuff/can do stuff that is of help for them. Drop me a line if you think you need something I could give you!

Music, Movies, and Books
We will talk about this in person if you are interested. I usually read a lot, unless I'm focussing on learning a language; in that case I might not read anything except the news for many months. I don't watch enough movies, as I always wait for rainy days and in the end I go walk in the rain. I tend to listen too much to the same songs, so please be welcome to show me new stuff.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once upon a time in Mali...
We were 4 Canadians in that small village in the outback, working as volunteers, making workshops about higiene, first aid, prevention of malaria. All day we were helping people to cultivate their land, sitting and drinking tea underneath mango trees, learning their language, trying to understand their culture...
What we didn't know was that this village - called Sirakoro, which means "close to the road" or "small road" or "small night" or "young night" - was the epicenter of a phenomenon that brought together for all of us the very sense of living in this Universe and the spiritual nature of existence. "Young night"; yes, indeed, the night we went through brought us back to childhood, when everything is possible and the world is without limit. "Young night", the first night ever, when everything was created.
There was this tree, enormous. In daylight, it seemed a dense cloud of foliage, unpenetrable, massive, dominating. All the bottom of its trunk was covered with spines, impossible to climb the 15 meters to the first branch.
But by night... it opened itself to the Milky Way, in the starry light, surrounded by a swarm of giant bats, full with millions of sounds, monkeys, birds, insects, ghosts, souvenirs...
We were half-asleep on the ground, at our side the Nutella melted by the tropical heat in its pot, bread, hot tea, fruits, kola nuts... talking about love, about being born again and again each day of our lives, about this Tree that has seen so many generations, while the stars were slowly scrolling in front of us.
Myriads of flying ants were faintly glowing. Life was here, around us. We felt the warm earth mold our backs. Life was here, in us. We dreamed, we lived, by each other, for each other, like the branches of that tree.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love languages, so you can speak nahuatl, kinyarwanda or any creole of this world... I'll be happy to hear it.
I can teach languages and patience and maybe recommend a few good books, or whatever you feel you can get from me.
I would like to learn more Indonesian and Thai, how to make sushi, dance tango, samba and salsa, photography, ride a camel, extra-occidental philosophy, first aid, survival techniques, bushcraft, etc.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Anything mentioned above; please note I'm not a great cook... I'd like to learn, though.
