About Me

Our world is a beautiful place and when I am not teaching young people how to take better care of it, I love to explore it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have had the pleasure of meeting and hosting very interesting travelers coming through Kingston, Ontario. I think that travelers have a unique mindset with many stories and experiences to share.

Interests

There is very little that does not interest me and if I have not tried it yet I will probably be open to the experience.

What I usually gravitate to when I am travelling is historical and cultural things like visiting notable places, iconic landmarks and museums.

When I am living the sedentary life and working (ie not on travel sabbatical) I like to immerse myself in the fictional or virtual worlds that were created for our entertainment: comic books, video games and anything that is part of geek culture. I also just started learning guitar, somewhat strumming a G chord :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a very varied mix in my playlist. The main themes are rock or metal like Metallica, Iron Maiden. Some newer bands like Imagine Dragons, some older alternative like Evanescence, even Country in short doses when I am in a 'giddy-up' mood. Lately I've taken an interest in Irish/Celtic songs because they are easy to sing and strum to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Drove from Athens to Mount Olympus, hiked up, back down and drove back within 36 hours.
Volunteer taught in schools around the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I speak 4 languages: English, French, Greek and Spanish. Would love to learn more!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I do not ever want to be a burden and will do everything that I can to leave your home better than it was when I was welcomed into it.

If you will allow me the pleasure, I love cooking and can buy groceries to cook a nice meal for you. Breakfasts tend to work best but I'll be happy to use my skills for any meal during any time of day :)
