ABOUT ME

I am Nicolas Cher. I am a student at the National University of Singapore. I am currently doing an exchange semester in Copenhagen and looking to travel as much as time allows around Europe. I am nice, easygoing and have an even temper. It takes a lot for me to get angry at people. I am patient and appreciate punctuality. I am an extroverted introvert, who likes to talk to people and listen to their stories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined couchsurfing when I was doing an exchange semester in Copenhagen. Being from Asia, it was rare for me to spend an extended period in Europe so I travelled quite a lot then. Beyond doing touristic stuff, I wanted the opportunity to meet locals and learn about their cultures so I started participating.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed 5 times now in Maastricht, Dusseldorf, Rhodes, Selcuk as well as in Istanbul. Through these experiences, I have learnt that it was so interesting how each and every host has their own style of hosting but I enjoyed myself tremendously each time so far. On some occasions, the hosts even showed us around and it was so much more fun as compared to just being mere tourists. Despite the language barrier on some occasions, I still had lots of fun talking to them, using simple words and showing them photos!

Interests

Travelling, reading, playing mahjong, seeing novel things and learning about new cultures, watching soccer, watching movies and TV serials.
