About Me
Howdy ya'll! I'm Nicole or Niki for short. I worked in Accounting for about 15 years before I was let go from my last job. It was a blessing in disguise as I was looking for a new career path. So I decided to take the opportunity and travel to Europe.
I have a 9 year old Schnauzer named Lucky. My cousins are taking care of him while I'm traveling. I do miss him but the pet/house sitting jobs I've been doing have helped ease the pain.
I'm working on a novel at the moment. I'm hoping to publish it within the next year or so.
When I go back to Austin (probably around April) I'll go back to bartending. I may have to sell my soul back to Accounting for some contract work too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm solo traveling across the UK and am trying to meet some cool and interesting people. I've been staying in hostels and trying to get more pet/house sitting jobs and figured I'd give this a chance too. It's a free and easy way to meet people so why not?

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite movies: The Shawshank Redemption, Requiem for a Dream, and Sleepers
Favorite music: I really love jazz and blues music. I like music that makes you want to get up and dance. I'm also a rocker chick at heart!
Favorite books: This one is difficult for me. I mostly have favorite authors rather than books. So I'll go with that. Favorite authors: Ernest Hemingway, Edgar Allan Poe, Nicholas Sparks (therapeutic crying), Ken Follett, Stephen King, Suzanne Collins, Veronica Roth, Lexi Blake, and Cherise Sinclair.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
After being fired from my job I decided to solo travel to Europe. It's been the best decision I've made in my life so far!
Teach, Learn, Share
One of my goals for this year is to learn Spanish and French. I took 4 years of Spanish in high school so I can read and write some of it but I want to be able to speak fluently. My dad's side of my family speaks Spanish.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a fairly descent cook. I'm a better baker than cook so if you like cookies and brownies I'm your girl!
If you fancy a cocktail I make a mean whisky old fashion and/or a Moscow mule.
Countries I’ve Visited
