About Me

Hello Fellow Couch Surfers!

I'm excited to be a part of this growing, global community! I've lived in a couple of other countries (Australia and New Zealand) and have travelled a bit (9 countries so far), but have SO many more places to see!! I love learning about new cultures, trying out new foods, and sharing/hearing stories from people's lives. I really feel that the heart of the culture of a place is the people, and yes the arts, music, food as well, but the people and their stories make a trip so much more special for me. I'm very much a people person, but can also really enjoy my peaceful times too.

In BC, I love going to the many beaches, swimming in the ocean and lakes, practicing yoga, playing ukulele a little bit, meeting new people, seeing live music, getting off the beaten path, checking out new restaurants, trying out my own recipes, haha, hanging out with my two very sweet cats (Poncho and Little Chubbs) and trying out different kinds of art.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It’s a fun way to meet new people, learn about their culture and foods, and perhaps pick up some words of another language!

I love showing people around Victoria as there are so many great spots! Lots of free live music, beaches, gorgeous parks with peacocks, a petting zoo with baby goats, fantastic ocean side patios and GREAT restaurants. I'm not vegan, but one of the best vegan spots in North American is here and it's soooo good! As are some of the pubs and happy hours.

Any and all kinds of jazz, funk, folk, organic electronic, dance punk, all eras and genres can be great... Bjork, Lemon Bucket Orchestra, Bonobo, Aretha Franklin, Bob Dylan, Ayla Nereo, Wildlight, Dessert Dwellers, Caribou, Pick A Piper, Loopsy Dazy...

Movies... I laughed so hard at Step Brothers, Brides maids, Wanderlust ...and love oldies like The Dark Crystal, The Never Ending Story, Goonies. Interstellar, Lord if The Rings, Pulp Fiction.

Books... Any book by Pema Chodrun, Clan of the Cave Bear series, Waiting for the Cyclone, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In Mexico, at 17 years old, I jumped into the river with a croc, as there was a family swimming very close to it! It was being fed fish by the restaurant my family and I were eating at, so it wasn't totally crazy...welll, just a bit!! lol

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you some chords on the guitar and ukulele, and a trick I have on how to peel the skin off of ginger! I could teach oh some yoga too! I love learning about other cultures and sharing stories!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook and play for music for people if there is a guitar kicking around. I can also help with dishes and general upkeep! Groceries too of course, if I am around for a few days.
