About Me

My name is Nicole. I am a teacher and currently taking some time off to travel. Would love the opportunity to stay with you and experience your home from a local point of view.

Please know that I don't use Couchsurfing as a dating/hook-up website. If you happen to come across my profile and want to meet up with me for those reasons - I am NOT interested. Please don’t take this as a threat, but I am only posting this after countless inappropriate messages on this app before. I love meeting new people but not in these circumstances.

Thanks!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I LOVE to travel, it has become a priority of mine to see new and exciting places, and I would love to see all these places through the eyes of a local, that is why I choose to Couchsurf.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite book is Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. I read a lot, especially when I travel because I am alone a lot of the time; however, I do enjoy socializing as well.

I love all kinds of music from country to heavy metal, it doesn't matter.

I am not a big movie person, but if I were to watch a movie, I enjoy comedies or documentaries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed Mount Kinabalu (4095 meters), the highest mountain in SE Asia and backpacked SE Asia for 4 months.

Teach, Learn, Share

Some of things I have learned are also expressed through the books I read:

I believe that if you are sad in one place, then you will be sad in another place. A place does not dictate your emotions.
"...going to another country doesn't make any difference. I've tried all of that. You can't get away from yourself by moving from one place to another. There's nothing to that... if you went there the way you feel now it would be exactly the same." -The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway

I am so fortunate to travel the world while doing something I love, and I look at each moment as positively as I can.
"When each day is the same as the next, it's because people fail to recognize the good things that happen in their lives every day that the sun rises." -The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

Failure is always your biggest success, never punish yourself for failing but rather take that failure and learn from it.
"If you want to change how you see your problems, you need to change what you value and/or how you measure failure/success." -The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*** by Mark Manson

What I Can Share with Hosts

I always bring a little something as a thank you or make you a meal ☺️

Also, love to hear and share traveling stories!
