About Me

I'm a vibrant person creature, a jovial extroverted introvert. I value authentic connections highly, with nature and with other people. For the last five years I've been studying plant medicine of all sorts. I've had smatterings of other day-jobs, though helping others to heal themselves is my calling in life. I'm going through a transitional period while I figure out my next steps for this, and am planning a big move soon. Like a lot of folks, I'm not entirely sure what to say about myself!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm traveling in the Southwest on my own currently, getting a feel for it, as I intend to move here in the not too distant future. I'm on a super tight budget, and the kindness of strangers who have oftentimes turned friends (as well as previous friends) has been one of the major things that has helped me along the way! I've been spending a lot of time sleeping in my car and camping, though it's getting colder, so I decided to give this a try.

Interests

Anything about plants or anything relating to plant medicine, as well as many healing modalities. Plants and animals. Human behavioural studies, Jungian psychology. Being outside. Hamburgers. Blues dance. Loooove dancing and movement arts in general. Journaling. Painting with watercolors. Jewelry-making. Creating aesthetically beautiful spaces.

Music, Movies, and Books

"Women Who Run With The Wolves"

For most of the summer I've been listening mainly to modern blues rock, Rising Appalachia, Nahko, and Tool.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I just backpacked in the Painted Desert Wilderness area of the Petrified Forest National Park. That was my first time doing that.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I make a mean cup of tea. I can also teach medicine-making and wildcrafting, and know a little bit of wild food plants in the Southwest. I also have some cooking skills, having worked as a line and prep cook for about three years. I also truly enjoy washing dishes. Though I'm not super practiced, I also do readings using the Animal Medicine deck. I'd welcome the opportunity to practice more.
