Overview
About Me
Huge passion for traveling, not as much passion for sitting behind a desk from 9-5 watching life pass me by. I have recently abandoned my safe cushy job to return to school and become an educator. Between semesters and pretty much any chance I get I prefer to jump on a plane and explore a new destination or to jump in the car and road trip to the various national and state parks in bordering states. I am a big fan of all things natural and can't get enough hiking, camping, backpacking and biking in my life!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new people, gain new experiences, swap stories and make some memories.
My favorite part about the hostel experience as a solo traveler is mingling with fellow travelers, swapping stories, and going on adventures with new friends- all of which can be met on the couch of a kind host! I am excited for the local perspective and expertise you can provide!

Music, Movies, and Books
I am a fan of A LOT of different types of music, I really don't know where to start. Depending on my mood I can get down to just about anything, but my all time favorite bands would have to be Modest Mouse and Radiohead.
My favorite movies are probably Trainspotting, Fight Club and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind- but these seemingly depressing titles aside I LOVE a good comedy.
I am reading about a book a month these days, impossible to list all the favorites. My main go-to's are Vonnegut, Palinuk, Orwell, Thompson and Burroughs (to paint a broad picture). I am always open to suggestions, exchanges, and anything that sounds interesting in the local used book store!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Summited Clouds Rest, Half Dome, Clouds Rest again and exited the trail at Tenaya Lake for a 17 mile, 6000+ ft elevation gain day in Yosemite National Park (last 6 miles with my fully-loaded pack) with my fiancé. My feet were toast.
