About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"Dare to struggle, dare to win. Makibaka, huwag matakot!"

Also to live presently, share love and light, create, evolve.

ABOUT ME

I'm a new graduate in Human Rights and Conflict Studies and I'd like to eventually travel the world, write and share people's stories!

PHILOSOPHY

Live passionately, live authentically, live well.
Share your wealth of happiness with the world. For what is life, if not lived heartily with endless laughter and shared with spectacular people?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Summer 2015 was one for the books. Me and two of my greatest friends decided to do the road trip of a lifetime, from Ottawa, Ontario, west towards Victoria, BC, then down south into America all the way to Tijuana, Mexico and then back up home. 16, 000 kms!

We had never done anything so wild and adventurous in our lives, and there was absolutely no way we could have done it without couchsurfing on the floors, beds, and couches of some of the kindest, most generous people we had ever met.

So, I'm on couch surfing because this community of nomads and adventurers is where my heart is! No word of a lie, the couchsurfing community has proven to me how genuinely wonderful humans are.

This time around I will be visiting Mexico City for a few days and would love to meet up with locals or hosts who know the city and could introduce me to the beauty that is Mexico!

Interests

I'm passionate about people power and human rights, getting in touch with my Filipino culture, and co-creating alternative worlds of liberation.

I also enjoy dancing. A lot.

Traveling (of course!), writing, photography, food/eating, art, sociology, laughing, and reading are just a few of my favourite things. Hehe.

Music, Movies, and Books

BOOKS

Just too many to count. What an overwhelming question! Let's discuss over some coffee and pastries.

MOVIES

Again, such big questions, such little time.

MUSIC

If I can dance to it, then it's in my books. Equally, if I can relax in a bubble bath to it, thumbs up.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During my 2015 road trip: Drove 16,000 kms across two countries! During this time we climbed a mountain, went bobsledding on an Olympic track, smoked pot with my favourite musician, stood on top of abandoned trains, jumped in glacier water, held my first real gun. Saw the Hollywood sign, took tequila shots in Tijuana, Mexico, slept on a wild hippie's weed farm. Got my first tattoos with a world-renowned artist, saw the Grand Canyon, climbed Bell Rock in Sedona, Arizona with a retired UFO lawyer, lived in a sustainable house in the middle of the New Mexican desert, saw area 51 and pulled an 18 hour drive across 6 states to make it home in time!

Summer 2016: Visited my family in the Philippines and had the chance to participate in an International Solidarity Mission to integrate with Typhoon Haiyan survivors, militarized farming communities, grassroots organizations who are all seeking a just and lasting peace in Philippines

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to make a star formation out of an elastic band, how to do a headstand, how to have on fleek eyebrows and say Toronto and Ottawa properly. Maybe some Français and Tagalog and a line or two in Bangla. I can teach you how to play a note or two on the bass clarinet and a chord or three on the guitar. I can teach you some pretty catchy protest chants too.

I'm excited to share stories and connections.

I'm so ready to bust out of my comfort zone.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A hearty laugh, a great time and some incredible stories.

Love love love.
