ABOUT ME
I'm Nicole, originally from the Ontario area but grew up in Dallas, Texas. My parents' families are spread around Canada, France and Holland so I was a lucky kid that got to tag along with my parents travels when they went on necessary family visits. Now I'm addicted!
I love cooking. I love tex mex. Everywhere I go that is not Texas, there is always a battle to see how I can recreate tex mex with local ingredients. I've learned how to make flour tortillas in Paraguay because my local despensas don't carry them. It's an obsession.
PHILOSOPHY
No regrets.
Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.
Well behaved women rarely make history.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I was first introduced to CS in Quito when I met a bunch of CSers through a good neighbor, friend and CS ambassador Meche. I traveled with Meche some in Ecuador and met so many great people through it.
Now that I have my own place again, I am finally able to pay back my CSing debt. If you are in the DFW area, come on by!
I haven't been able to travel too much in the past couple years because of my job, so I love hosting people who are brave enough to get off the beaten trail here and living vicariously through them.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books.... too many to count! you will have to check out my shelves if you ever stay with me.
Music: anything with soul. To me, that can means lots of things. Beautiful lyrics, bluegrass, a banjo, soul, cumbia, rap, bolero, salsa, big band from the 1920s. I am also a sucker for classical.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Snorkeling off the Galapagos Islands and having two manta rays swim up beside me. It was majestic and terrifying at the same time.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a few recipes up my sleeve. Also horse riding, rock climbing, tae kwon do/self defense, French, English, OK Spanish, Portuguese and some Guarani if you are interested in that!
