CURRENT MISSION
Escape the Midwest!
ABOUT ME
I'm an art school graduate and still am unsure how I want to spend my bread-and-butter making time on earth. My goal is to be outdoors as often as possible.
I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, as was my mother and her mother before her. I intend to break this short-lived cycle.
I'm currently traveling around the Western half of the United States. I've traveled a bit around Western Europe so I want to see what my own country has to offer!
PHILOSOPHY
Plan as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll transcend in 2012. (Didn't you?)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Surfer and hope to soon be a surfee when I get back home.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
The first time I couch surfed I didn't realize that's what I was doing. I was at the Burning Man festival in Nevada and a woman I got to chatting with on the last night was excited to hear my friends and I planned on traveling through San Francisco. She happened to live in Mill Valley just outside of the city and offered us a place to stay. It was a great experience for a maiden surf. I'd never before experienced strangers showing such kindness and generosity to other strangers. Since then I've met some really wonderful people who've opened their homes to me and I'm very thankful!
Interests
Meeting new people and hearing new stories, just like anyone with a couch surfing profile! I enjoy being in the bounty of nature and enjoy working with my hands. Two of my favorite artists are Ryan McGinley and Praxiteles, and like these guys my own artwork tends to focus on the human form.
But really... I just want to dance!

Music, Movies, and Books
Fav movies: most of Studio Ghibli's library, Velvet Goldmine, Breakfast on Pluto, The Last Unicorn, Before Sunrise, The Fantastic Mr. Fox, Being John Malkovich aaand Stardust.
Have read and enjoyed: Stranger in a Strange Land, the Dharma Bums, The Hobbit, Harry Potter (um...yes all seven thanks!), Watership Down, The Neverending Story, Les Miserables, Dune, 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl. Reading is something I wish I did a lot more of.
Music: I'm very open to almost anything. If I'm driving in my car, the radio must be on. I have a thing for David Bowie, super pumped about the new album! I've been getting more into electronic and dance music lately. That and blue-grass.... go figure.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I saved a manatee from choking on a piece of plastic wrap! Ok... he wasn't so much choking as he was chewing on it. And I didn't personally pull the plastic out of its mouth, but rather informed the keeper. Basically: I snitched out a manatee at the zoo. I lead a thrilling life.
Oh and Europe. I backpacked through Europe.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you're unfamiliar, I will teach you the proper procedure for leaving gratuity for those in the service industry ^_^
I wish to learn what the world and those in it are willing to school me on! Bring it!
