Hey! I'm Nicole, born in the US, but lived in Portugal for most of my life.
After Uni I've moved to the UK where I been working as a locum in different cities. More recently I worked in Ireland as well.
I have now settled down in Bristol, UK for the time being.

I'm easy-going, open-minded, curious and a bit shy but only until I build up confidence.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been an inactive user of CS for a while and would now like to put it to good use.
I am looking forward to meeting new people around were I currently live, participating in events and getting to know new people traveling.
I enjoy meeting people with different experiences and perspectives. I'm interested in learning new things and expanding my horizons.
When travelling I think it's the best way to fully connect to the place you're going, getting to know the real places by the people who actually live there.
At the moment I can't host as I'm renting.

I watch too many movies so it seems the list will never end but: the secret in their eyes, incendies, head-on, blue valentine, crash, requiem for dream, waking life, fight club, blood diamond, the libertine, man on wire, sometimes in april, inception, the life of others, waltz with bashir, memento, tropa de elite 2, big fish, schindler's list, blow, le fableux destine d' amelie, central do Brasil, the prestige, detachment, 21 grams, donnie darko, mary and max, letters from iwo jima, lord of war, interstellar, the wind that shakes the barley, unthinkable, whiplash, 9th company, into the wild, after life, doubt, irreversible... Quite into documentaries as well

I'll listen to anything really but some of what is on my iPod right now: the national, radiohead, death cab for cutie, naked and famous, anthony and the johnsons, artic monkeys, editors, ben harper, damien rice, florence and the machine, kendrick lamar, the kooks, mumford and sons, placebo, alt-j, the strokes, some good ol' fado..

Books: quite a fan of Camus, Saramago, José Luis Peixoto, Steinbeck, Hemingway, Orwell..
