About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live lightly and vibrantly.
ABOUT ME
I have a wonderful group of family and friends and like to think I live life with as much vigour as they do. I love having a ridiculous night of frolicking as much as a laidback evening with great conversation.
PHILOSOPHY
I want to live life with passion and be thoroughly engaged wherever I might be.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Went on an amazing journey in Southern Europe and Morocco a couple of years ago where I connected with CouchSurfers and randoms alike. Learned so much about generosity with the amazing people I travelled with. I have been moving cities quite a bit lately, so hosting has been a bit challenging. I am looking to change that.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
At this point I've done more surfing than hosting, but am looking to change that! Found it a bit difficult to get into when I first started in Europe, but after meeting and travelling with a fellow CouchSurfer in Morocco, it completely changed and enriched my travel experience.
Interests
I love music that you can sing and dance with. I play violin and write songs in an all ladies Roma style band. We don't practice much but we know how to have a good time and look good in moustaches. When I was little I hated the word "silly", but now realize its noun form is one of my favourite pastimes. I'm part of a Spontaneous Social Club that does social experiments and whatever else we come up with. I also enjoy almost anything active- soccer, running, biking, swimming, contemporary dance, you name it. Cooking, and eating!, are both wonderful to share with family and friends. Now that I mention it, I love both of those and consider close family and friends as one in the same. I love learning languages and French in particular. Would also love to start learning another language and have thought of trying Arabic. Although recently I've been speaking a lot of Spanish gibberish, so maybe that's a sign. Aside from that, I'm a fan of general merriment- good music and good conversation.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love movies, books and music that are rich and really take you in. I enjoy reading but never feel like I do enough of it. Dystopias and French novels are always a good time. In terms of music, I like things I can sing to or dance to. Local gold like the Crooked Brothers and Carly Dow. I don't know if the word "plunky" means anything to you, but I like that feel. I'm not into anything particularily hardcore but am open to a lot.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A favourite travel experience was playing violin with a crazy group of musicians in a Quebec pub.We were playing the same songs but with different versions from all across the country. Also, teaching English to refugee women and realizing that one of them also spoke French. It was amazing to see how our interactions shifted after the language barrier was altered. Oh! And biking the West Coast. Beautious!
Teach, Learn, Share
If you have a violin, I would love to teach you a few things. I could also share some knowledge about bikes and meditation (not at the same time...actually, why not at the same time?). I would love to improve my French but am also happy to help others with their English. I would love to learn more about music, cooking, and language.I am learning French but would like to learn Arabic or Icelandic or whatever comes my way. Also, I want to learn to windsurf one day. General life wisdom would also be appreciated.
