About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Trying to find some people to inspire my adventures
ABOUT ME
This is what everyone says, but it's true- this is hard! Why can't we find it easy to talk about ourselves? Maybe because we are all travelers and we are traveling to find out who we are so we can fill this space with words! This only means one thing then, I need to travel more- so host me! I'll suck it up and try though- let me paint you a mental picture here: I am different (great start) I don't find it important to care much about clothes, hair and shoes and stuff because those aren't the things that make me happy, but they are fun if you can find some cheap vintage/second hand clothes. What I do think is important is being out in the open air and enjoying what the world is offering you. Its natural foods, its beautiful nature and most of all its people (and animals too, who prove to be much cooler than humans sometimes). I want to experience the things that make me scared and uncomfortable, because only then do I know that I am truly experiencing a new culture. I currently work as an after school assistant teacher at a youth arts program in North Philadelphia. I mainly am an expert at telling kids not to hide under tables and NOT to swing scissors in the air. I also do some illustrations, collage Photoshop stuff and a dozen other mediums of art. But what you really need to know is...if you are a couch surfer and love this organization as much as I do, I'm sure we will get along.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that we all can learn from each other. I wouldn't be the person I am today if it weren't for a handful of people that I've met along the way. The motivation of friendship will go a long way. I treat everyone I meet as part of my community- no matter how much of a stranger they may be.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've been hosting ever since I got my own place. The more the merrier is my motto I guess. Having a couch surfer kind of fills the adventurous void that the day to day routine creates. When I was abroad in Rome for 5 months I went to A LOT of couch surfing meetings and slept on many great couches owned by many great people during travelin' time through Europe and the surrounding area. I've met a lot of great people through couch surfing, most of whom have earned the title of good friend in replace of "our (enter your place of origin here) couch surfer".
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
All of the groups of people I have hosted have become close friends and we still keep in touch. I wouldn't want to lose connection with them. They have enlightened me and my roommates a great deal and I hope to do the same.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Coffee and Cigarettes, If a Tree Falls, The Return, The Tree of Life, Persona, The Girl on the Bridge, Memento, Donnie Darko, Everything is Illuminated, The Fall
Music:CocoRosie, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Lykke Li, Animal Collective, Deerhunter, St. Vincent, Cat Power, Modest Mouse, Devendra Banhart, Wavves, Tom Waits, Pixies, PJ Harvey have been the consistent 'favorites' but I'm mostly a fan of most things in the backwoods blues, shoegaze, post punk and ambient genres. And Hip hop- you can't forget about the hip hop.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Morocco! For anyone who has ever been there that is all I have to say. If you ever meet me in person, I'll tell you all about it.
Teach, Learn, Share
Things I know how to do that you may want to learn- How to make a decent vegan meal so you can see that vegans eat more than just leaves. How to knit so your grandmother can be proud of you and maybe you can make a friend a scarf. How to dance in a way so you wont be bothered by creepy men in the clubs. How to take a pretty picture so when you are traveling your mom can 'like' all of them on facebook. How to play the ukulele but forget all the lyrics to any song you learn how to play.
I would love to learn how to camp- and by that I mean real camping, making fires, pitching a tent, hiking and tracking, what plants I can eat, what animals are going to try to eat me- you know, real camping. Also I would like to learn how to speak other languages- but that would take a long time (unless you speak italian- if you do we should practice together). I want to learn how to make anything, just anything you know how to make- I'm sure whatever it is, it could come in handy.
