About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To follow my heart, but to remember to take my brain with me ;)

ABOUT ME

I'm 22 years young ;)
I do everything with passion!

I love traveling. The world is like a book, and those who do not travel have only read a page!

To me, life is about the people you meet and the beautiful things you create together with them :)

PHILOSOPHY

Smile, because life is too short to be unhappy.
You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies wise, I am a fan of Kate Winslet.
There's just something incredibly alluring about an actress who can REALLY act, not just look pretty (although she is), and looks like she actually eats meat. Haha!

Also, she's the lead actress in my favourite movie of all time, "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". In fact I love all her movies (that I've watched so far)!

My favourite TV show is definitely The Big Bang Theory. It's the ultimate show to represent us fellow geeks and show that we can be funny and cool too :P

I have been an avid reader since I was a young child.

I have read (and own) most of Enid Blyton's books (as a child), moving on to J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series, Anthony Horowitz's Alex Rider series, Carolyn Keene's Nancy Drew series etc. (as a young teen), to fiction such as authors like Mario Puzo, Dan Brown and Christopher Paolini.

One of my favourite authors of all time is Mario Puzo, unfortunately he passed away the year I was born (1991) so I will never get a chance to meet him :(

Right now, as a young woman (22 years old) I enjoy reading self-motivating/personal excellence books from authors such as Stephen Covey, Anthony Robbins etc., authors with an underlying financial theme such as Robert Kiyosaki and Donald Trump, or fiction/non-fiction from authors such as the critically acclaimed Japanese writer Haruki Murakami.

Music wise, I don't really listen to anything in particular but the only exception is TVXQ! Check out their lives and acapellas on YouTube if you haven't already :)

If there are any fellow Cassiopeias (their official fan club) out there, you can give me a buzz as well :D *fangirling mode on*

Partly why I love them so much is because they are the most successful artists in Asia but also possibly the most humble :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Regional Champion for Asia Pacific, HSBC's Young Entrepreneur Challenge 2012 (refer to my pictures with my team in Hong Kong :D)
[HSBC Group: World's largest bank in terms of assets - Forbes 2012]

Single-handedly recruited 188 volunteers for an event for underprivileged children.

Managed to secure sponsorship for vaccination jabs for cervical cancer for the female students in my university (my mother had cervical cancer, I did it in honour of her)

I have been actively doing community service and volunteer work for the past 5 years, including my 4 years of university life so far.

I firmly believe that you make a living by what you receive, but you make a life by what you GIVE! :)

Also, not sure if this is considered amazing, but I am quite proud of it - I paid for myself (living cost etc.) throughout all my years in college/university (this is not common in Asia) :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you English, Mandarin (Chinese) and Cantonese (my most fluent languages) if you are interested in learning them :)

I am also pretty good at origami (paper folding art) as well :) kids especially love this, and it works out well because I love kids!

(I am the eldest among my generation from both sides of my family, so I have experience babysitting about 10+ different kids)

Also, am not a professional photographer but I take pretty decent pictures with my Sony NEX-3N going up to 210mm and f/6.3 :)
