About Me

I am a 5th year student studying biology at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo also minoring in psychology, Spanish, and Japanese. I absolutely love traveling and want my whole life to revolve solely around the idea of being able to go out and see the world. I think it is very important for people to be exposed to different cultures and places because there is no better way to learn and immerse yourself into other cultures than by actually seeing it in person. I just recently got my passport in 2017 but I've already been to 17 countries! I did a 3 month trip to South America one time and visited 8 countries all while carrying just one small bag! I like to travel minimally and lightly. Sometimes I bring no luggage at all! I am a really laid back kind of girl, who just wants to meet new people, try new things, push myself out of my comfort zone, and see the world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am a really poor college student so I do not like spending money while traveling (haha don't we all)! Plus, couch surfing is an amazing way to not only save money, but be able to stay with and meet people in the places I am visiting! I love how couchsurfing exposes you to people you would not normally be given the opportunity to meet and it really gives you a better perspective on what it means to live in that area. Meeting and talking to the locals helps you learn so much about the area and is my favorite part about traveling! Let's exchange life stories and get to know each other!

Interests

  • salsa dancing
  • bachata

Music, Movies, and Books

I love watching Adventure Time (it is a cartoon), and the Netflix series Black Mirror.
My favorite music is reggae, reggaeton, and R&B ( although I can enjoy any kind of good music)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hardly spend money the entire time I travel. I know how to travel very frugally and love hitchhiking with random people. I am not afraid of doing what others are afraid to do, and the more people tell me how dangerous something is, the more I just want to prove them how wrong they are. If we always listened and were too afraid to go out and do something we would miss out on so many experiences. Never be afraid to face your fears--they will only make you stronger.

--I've also gone skydiving before
--I ran a marathon (26.2 miles!) (42.2 Km)

Teach, Learn, Share

Never be afraid to try new things and meet new people. School is one way to learn, but we can always be learning about the world around us at any time if we take the time to get to know it. Street smarts are just as useful and valuable as book smarts and the only way you are going to improve them is by testing yourself out in the real world. I can never learn too much and I never want to stop learning.

I can also help teach you English! I would consider myself intermediate Spanish level so we could also practice Spanish together too.

If you have any sort of talent I would love for you to share it with me and attempt to teach me! I love learning new skills, or really just anything in general.
