ABOUT ME

I will be traveling back to Brussels, Belgium in september and october of this year.

Interests

So much stuff is worthy of attention that I find it hard to stay focused on the same subject matters. I'm just curious by nature.
Be warned: My thirst for knowledge is insatiable.

Here's an exhaustive list of some carefully chosen topics I enjoy:

Music, Movies, and Books

I like reading. Reading has been my favourite thing for as long as I can remember. There are also times when all I do is read, read and read. 'Matter of fact, I read as much as one can breathe! I read novels, short stories, newspapers, essays, magazines, maps, cereal boxes, fortune cookies etc. If you want my list of recommendations, it's written all over the bookshelves of your favourite libraries and newsstands.

I've recently started listening to audio books and I must say that it's really quite a wonderful experience if I do say so meself: That 30+ hours of Stephen Fry's Sherlock Holmes was pure bliss.
I like to use librivox.org where you have access to book from the free public domain read by volunteers. The audios are offered in a variety of languages. Of course, that would mean you can submit your own reading as well!

Now reading:
- L'Allemand, Assimil

This summer's recommendation:
- Started a Nat Geo monthly subscription last year. Been rubbing my nose on those pages since.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Working occasinally in a bar and coming back home in the early morning since the past 5 years has offered opportunities to meet, as you may have guessed, some pretty shady characters. However, on more than just a few rare occasions, I've had the chance to encounter some special specimens of the Montréal fauna: People that are still awake in the middle of the night, walking the streets either as part of a work day routine of after a tumultuous night in some bar, eager to see a friendly face or just someone to talk to. If addressed to or by, they usually recount the simple tales of their journey throughout the day and how they have come up to the point of our spontaneous acquaintance. Though some might shun from such events for their rather "informal" and raw aspects, I feel that these are the great examples of the special human contacts many of us westerners treasure for their rarity.
