About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Looking for some comfortable couches in Granada, Cordoba, and/or Seville as I make my way across Spain toward Portugal. And I wouldn´t mind a dance party.
ABOUT ME
After living in New York City for 5 years (Bronx and Queens) I decided to clear my head a bit and move to the East Bay, California. Took my first road trip across the USA to get there and realized I love the freedom of traveling, and that America is a really beautiful place! After a year in California I left (August 2009) and have been traveling on and off since, with some temporary gigs in between to support myself financially. I have decided that I´m going to keep this going until I find a reason to settle somewhere and focus on something that makes sense and is important to me.
I love being in big cities with lots of people, culture, and craziness, and I can equally appreciate off-the-grid living, preferably close to mountains and/or larger bodies of water.
I am happy.
PHILOSOPHY
Growing and learning until I die. Along the way I try and have a good time, be kind to and empower others, contribute positively to society, and try not to take everything *too* seriously/sweat the small stuff.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Ever since I heard about CS a year ago I have been meaning to join because I think it´s just brilliant! And now that I am out travelling I'm trying to make use of this resource to meet new people and really get a sense of the places that I will be visiting. Perhaps once day, when I have a home again, I will then open my couch up to fellow travelers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Zero... I have definitely crashed on friends of friends couches before though, and luckily it has always been fun.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have been plugged into The Knife and Fever Ray for months now and cannot get away from their beats. My taste in music varies: I like reggae, dancehall, metal, folk, cumbia, funk, jazz, blues, country, hip hop, r&b, soul, ambient and electronic, "world music," etc. and I love exchanging and listening to anything new. Talking Heads, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, Erykah Badu, Mary J. Blidge, Aretha Franklin, Amalia Rodrigues, Dead Prez, Muddy Waters, Chet Baker, Charles Mingus, DJ/Rupture, Filistine, Ghislian Poirier, Lil Wayne, Johnny Cash, Misfits, Ornette Coleman, Slayer, John Coltrane, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, y mas.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
looked at ocean, swam in ocean.
Teach, Learn, Share
I learned how to spin (poi) and eat fire last year and would definitely be open to teaching others, as well as learning new skills and tricks. I know how to play the alto saxophone (it has been a year since i played, though!), I am a decent cook, got some basic yoga skills, have a strong sense of the English language for those looking to practice and learn, and I speak Portuguese conversationally and could share some things I know. I can tell you a few things about America's prison industrial complex if you are interested.
I would love to learn how to sew, sail, and SCUBA dive.
