Overview
About Me
I don't have the Maple Leaf sewn on my backpack, but I'm still a proud Canadian. Recently repatriated after living and working in Okinawa, Japan as an English teacher. I exude my Canadianess through demonstrations of politeness and gross consumption of maple syrup.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Money spent on experiences is money well spent, but why spend money needlessly? The best part of travel is meeting new people, and Couchsurfing is a great way to do that and save a buck or two. I'm on Couchsurfing because 1) it's a fantastic way to connect with fellow travellers; 2) it lends itself to deeper, richer travel experiences; and 3) I spent all my money on the plane ticket.
Interests
I like travel, among other things. Other things include, but are not limited to : beer, coffee, cooking, hiking, hockey, scuba, skiing, surfing, and my own reflection.

Music, Movies, and Books
I prefer music with an acoustic guitar and good lyrics. I like movies that don't put me to sleep. And the last book I really enjoyed was The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I purchased a vehicle in Japan using only gestures and my very limited Japanese vocabulary.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share a laugh, a story, and a promise to reciprocate your hospitality if you ever find yourself in my neck of the woods. Also it is is customary in my home country to supply your host with a six pack of beer (or something of equivalent value and palatability)...
