Hey! We are Niels and Ineke and we are a non-spiritual, young Belgian, hippie/metal couple that would like to make the world a better place. We believe in environmentalism, animal and human liberation and feel that the most wonderful thing to do in our lives is to make others happy and share with them in the everyday and not-so-everyday pleasures of life. We both are very sociable and adventurous spirits with many great projects and dreams in this journey of life. It will be rough, it will be beautiful. 我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I don't like this website anymore because of their recent policy. I do like the principle a lot and We should make it part of our culture as a whole to invite travelers into our homes. We want to get to know people from all over the world and enjoy the big and small things in life. We like the concept because it's an alternative way to travel and have amazing experiences. Instead of just walking the already known 'tourist' path, you kind of make your own through this channel and get to know every place from a 'local' point of view.

We are interested in history, philosophy, art, photography, traveling, dancing (salsa), archery, gardening, DIY stuff, gaming, anime, environmentalism, metal/punk/hardcore and very fond of the animal rights movement and ofcourse the vegan lifestyle!

We like metal music the most (especially sludge, black and death metal), but we enjoy folk, industrial, goa, hardcore, punk, salsa, reggae, ska, mongolian throat singing and many other genres..

We like to read comics and manga's, my favorite books are The Dice Man and mostly philosophical books by for instance Peter Singer, Noam Chomsky, Richard Dawkings and others.
We like movies and documentaries that shock us and show us the true nature of mankind (The Road, Valhalla Rising), (Earthlings, Cowspiracy, The Cove).

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

We slept a night on the streets of Lubjana, Slovenia
We traveled through the steppes of Mongolia
Bought 2nd hand bikes in Pécs Hungary and ride them to Belgrado next to the Danube

Became vegan together
Started our own business together
Traveled for 5 months without taking any airplanes
Started and maintained a co-housing project together
This doesn't sound that exciting but we have more where that is coming from :)

Ineke is a chef and together we have a catering business. We can share a lot with people about cooking. Apart from that we like talking about crazy experiences, stories, new insights and dreams and how to reach them. Life is what you want it to be. We want to be self sufficient and have this DIY attitude. We can teach some stuff to surfers like gardening. We would love to learn something from our surfers!
