About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live simply and enjoy every moment possible.
ABOUT ME
We are musicians, artists, and believers in the DIY ethos. We do our best to live what we preach. We enjoy good conversation, bad TV and making things, be it food or furniture. We live on a quarter acre psuedo-homestead near downtown Columbus, Ohio. Dan runs a recording studio and Stephanie runs a reproductive healthcare access nonprofit.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Sharing our home and adventures with others.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We have hosted and been hosted and loved it all. We love being able to share our home and life with interesting travelers. Our band, Coal Fired Bicycle, also uses couchsurfing when on tour. We've also stayed as surfers with a lovely couple in Maine, as well as individuals and couple to and from on other NE-ward trips and it has just made our travels that much more rich. We love to explore and learn from people and this is a perfect outlet to do so.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Generally the quiet/comedic indie films and documentaries. We're not really into horror or action blockbuster megaplex super wooooo...whatever.
Music: Most things that are hyphenated with "indie". Folk, Old School Country, assorted and select noisy heavy punky things.
Books: (Hooray faulty parallelism!) Kurt Vonnegut, Charles Bukowski, bell hooks, Michael Pollan, Steven Pressfield, The Great Derangement, Stalking The Wild Asparagus, Possum Living, Farm City, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, The Monkey Wrench Gang, Where We Stand, Weighing In, Punk Rock Etiquette, Pedagogy of the Oppressed, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While out riding our motorcycle, we saw an older woman on a trike (that's a 3-wheeled custom motorcycle, for you uninitiated folks). This is great, but unremarkable. The remarkable part was that she had a purse dog riding in the passenger seat with it's own tiny helmet and doggles.
Teach, Learn, Share
Sustainable Living... ranging from gardening, chicken-keeping, canning food, making our own butter, heating with wood, collecting rainwater, etc.
In all likelihood, we will feed you a delicious home-cooked/ grown meal.
