Hello!

I'm not so formal in person but here's an attempt at "about me."

I'm a teacher who's traveled on and off for the past ten years. I've lived in Southern California since 2018 where I teach 4-5 year old preschool students. Early childhood education is one of my passions, but I have not been able to balance my love for traveling abroad since I moved to California. Outside of the classroom I am committed to my love for fitness, reading, and being outdoors.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe that this is a lifestyle exchange. I am not looking for a free place to stay - I'm curious how people live where they live, and of course, to make friends.

Interests

I'm grateful that my lifestyle allows me to pursue my interests everyday. At school I get to share my love for child development, social-emotional education and watching my students explore our garden.

I am a fitness nerd and need the balance of exercise after the demands of work.

I read a lot and started a book club to connect with other book lovers.

On the weekends you can find me riding wheelies around my city Oceanside, camping in the California deserts, and hanging out with my friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a lot of favorite books and authors... particularly Tom Robbins, Hermann Hesse, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Haruki Murakami, and many more. Some of my favorite books are Steppenwolf, House of Leaves, and Shantaram.

I'm a music nerd as well and my tastes are vast. I'm really curious about the music scene in Serbia!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been able to merge both my love of travel and teaching over the years. I've worked at schools in New York, Massachusetts, Saipan, Thailand and California. When I step back to reflect, it feels amazing. You learn a lot about a culture through its education system.
