About Me
Hi. I’m Nihal. (she/her – b. 1996)
So, I studied Political Science and Human Rights from the University of Delhi and Panjab University, respectively. These days, I’m really into anything related to the minds of teenagers, rebuilding communities, and social-emotional skills like empathy and curiosity. I do have to deal with social and emotional anxiety from time to time, but I’m working on it.
I’m currently a research student. I’m working on my PhD in Sustainable Development with a focus on Education for Sustainability, specifically looking at how social media affects emotional skills in rural Indian adolescents. In the past, I’ve worked as a research consultant for the National Human Rights Commission of India.
I’m a woman of faith, mostly Sikh. I live a pretty slow life, and I’m just your regular, everyday person. But, I’m creative and enjoy chatting about mental health, music, languages, and all the little coincidences life throws our way.
I’m from Delhi originally, but I’ve lived in Ghaziabad and Chandigarh before I moved to Kerala for my PhD.

I identify myself as a curious kid and kind of a travel enthusiast, so, based on discussions with my friends who have been using Couchsurfing for some time, I believe it can help me quench my thirst to interact with wonderful people and get a chance to listen to their stories and share my culture with them,
