About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To learn as much as I can and then share a bit of it with others
ABOUT ME
I was born in a small town in Denmark in the middle of the hot summer of 1975 on the night when two spacecraft, the American Apollo and Soviet Soyuz, were linked up in orbit.
Since then I have taken pleasure in linking up with people from far away places. I enjoy travelling with purposes other than just seeing the world. Working, studying and visiting friends are my chosen ways to go abroad. I love having visitors, and showing them my little corner of the world.
Most of the time most of my days I spend studying. In my free time I watch movies, go running, cook food from around the world, visit & host friends, walk around the city, listen to music and read all kinds of books.
PHILOSOPHY
To learn and share.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host and surf, and I leave reliable references to make CouchSurfing that little bit easier to navigate in the future. I go to CouchSurfing meetings and meet great people.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far hosting for me has been about walking and talking, two activities I enjoy greatly.
Surfing has been about extreme hospitality, being fed enormous amounts of delicious food, feeling welcome.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: dark & depressing European dramas about unbearable family secrets, westerns about the end of the frontier era, low-key indie films about small-town America that manage to be gripping without having unpleasant characters in them...
Music: simple songs with great lyrics, sadness & beauty distilled into sound, music that lifts the spirit, heaven and earth expressed with instruments, the blues in most of its shapes and sizes, classical guitar music, post-modernist americana etc.
Books: Novels to get lost in, travel books to dream about places with, anthropology and sinology classics.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have lived for a time in a mountain village in Nicaragua, sharing the daily life of the dirt poor & infinitely hospitable Martinez family and the small community of around 40 farming households. Those were the singularly most rewarding and exciting weeks I have ever lived through.
The most amazing place I have seen so far is Tiger Leaping Gorge in China. To walk around in that landscape is something special. Yosemite is great too. A few places in Norway and Iceland also come close.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can (and will probably try to) teach you a bit of Chinese - if you don't speak it already.
I have two guitars, a ukulele, a couple of harmonicas and a cajon at my place, so if you are interested in jamming while surfing my couch...
Teach me a song, recommed a good place to hike or how to cook something from your country and I'll be forever grateful.
