ABOUT ME

I have been living in Duluth, Minnesota, USA for about 6 years now. I went to undergrad at the University of Minnesota Duluth division and after graduation in 2010 went about saving up for a grand life adventure. Now, as autumn 2012 rolls around I will finally be setting out to explore some new places on my own.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch surfed a little bit back in 2008-2009 but until now, have not been traveling since then. On October 1st I will start a year of exploring, learning, meeting new friends and enjoying the world in ways I don't yet know. I am looking to stay anywhere and everywhere, just need a couch to sleep on. I am looking forward to using this tool as a way to meet people, plan trips and dive deep into places and cultures I haven't yet had the pleasure of experiencing.

Interests

I love to hike, bike, swim, go out, dance and just play around in general. Lake Superior is in every Duluthian's backyard and it is hard not to fall completely in love with the landscape. Anything that gets me out near the water is a favorite past time of mine. Cooking is another interest and I am excited to try some new and different cuisine around the world, maybe we can cook a new or old favorite dish together. Beyond those basic everyday things I love art, language and music. I am up for any show or museum trip and I will hopefully be improving my skills in French and Spanish while traveling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was able to concur my fears of heights and bungee jumped over Victoria Falls in Zambia, Africa when I was just a teenager. That was one of my most exhilarating adventures to date and am hoping to add more like it to my life. The descriptor word here was awestruck and while those big moments like bungee jumping come to mind, I keep going back to simple bonfires on the beach with friends. I love meeting new people and would be thrilled to do anything, from simple to extravagant.
