About Me

I am a graduate student in North Carolina State University. I am pursuing a PhD in environmental engineering.

Being an environmental engineer, I fully understand the importance of nature. I am fond of exploring beautiful places around me. I like hiking around mountains, waterfalls and lakes. I like to do birdwatching as a hobby.

All my life I have lived near the mighty himalayas, the tallest mountains in the world. I like to spend my time away from the madding city crowd. I do like to party with my friends though and attend concerts. I am a fan of Taylor Swift and Linkin Park.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to explore things around and couch surfing provides me an opportunity to meet like minded people. Being a student, I have a tight budget. The money I save from accommodation helps me plan more trips. We get to meet new people ans share their experience. Its also good to get advice about the place from people who are already living there since many years.

Interests

Photography, wildlife, bird watching, traveling, hiking, biking, cooking

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Camping at more than 12000 feet above sea level in the glaciers, with no cellphone network for days. Drinking pure water straight from the streams, bathing in chilly water. That was the trip of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a self learned person who learns everything from experimenting. I like to take risks, do stuff on my own. Two skills which I think am good at are cooking and photography. Both were successful experiments for me. I spent hours hiking and taking thousands of photos each day just to understand the concepts of photography. In my view, nobody needs a professional training, anybody can master anything they pursue diligently. I can share my skills. I like teaching and guiding people. I have taught engineering students before.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Spicy home cooked indian food, sweets and delicacies. Quality time with hosts, I like to sit and talk for hours, I am also a good listener. I like stories and experiences.
