About Me

Hey there, it’s Niki here, Budapest-based designer, herbivore, professional life lover, aspiring writer and globetrotter.
I am in a constant discovery of not only the world and its humans but myself, and the things that make me and the people I love happy to be alive.

If you want to find out more about me, feel free to check out my blog, where I ramble about my travels, experiences, and share introspective little snippets of my life:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Real life connection between people is something I miss terribly and cherish infinitely in today's world - and Couchsurfing has restored my faith both in that and humanity in general.
Besides my passion for travelling and exploring new places, I love exploring people's thoughts, feelings and stories even more. I just love how incredibly fast two complete strangers can become friends, no matter what cultural background they have.
I haven't yet been able to host anyone, but love to thank hosts' incredible generosity with delicious (vegan) meals I cook up using my mini spice bags I carry with me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Never been able to define my favourite genres... Music, movies, and books that make me feel - happy, heartbroken, or just alive.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Accepted the (sometimes odd) way I am, and became my own best friend (still in progress).
Helped a five-year-old kid overcome his horrendous fear of painting by telling him it's just like spreading butter on a toast (and funny stories about painters).
Watched Mount Etna erupt from atop.
Attempted to sneak into a concert held in the Teatro Antico in Taormina, Sicily through ancient stone walls and cactuses (cacti?). We got thrown out, but it was worth it.
Attended Cinderella’s wedding wearing a 1950’s dress and beehive hairdo. In a short film at least.
Made an 18th century ball gown for the ball scene of the same film.

Guess that's more than one...

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to think. I like to think, then overthink and comtemplate, therefore I'm constantly realising things about all sorts of phenomena in life - and I love to share these thoughts with others; moreover, I like to have these conversations over a delicious meal I've cooked up :)
Besides, I have a neverending, great desire to learn about everything and anything, but mostly people and their stories, lives, thoughts and feelings.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Exciting food, funny stories, crazy dance moves! And hundreds of weird Hungarian expressions.
