Overview
About Me
I'm always searching for something new: new encounters, new stories, new places, new experiences. I hope that never ends. I try to do as much good as I can, for my family, friends, and complete strangers. I'm not sure if I believe in karma, but whether or not it comes back to me, it's worth putting it out there. I love a challenge, be it physical, mental or emotional. That's something that dictates my travels, forcing me to hike intense trails, learn new things, and wander off the beaten track as frequently as possible. Laughter and art are two of my favorite things, especilly the art of story-telling. I get along with pretty much anyone, and try to see the good in every human being. I have no grand plan for the rest of my life, but I'm hoping it will all work out.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I'm a freeloader. ;)
But really, I love everything about this project, be it surfing, hosting, or just meeting up. I've met some crazy, inspirational people and have learned so much more than I expected! It's the people that can make or break a travel experience, and with the CouchSurfing community, my experiences have always been improved.

Music, Movies, and Books
I read everything. It's practically an illness. These authors stand out and essentially chanhed my life: Tom Robbins, Margaret Atwood, Douglas Adams, Haruki Murakami, Amy Tan, JK Rowling, Jeanette Walls, George Orwell, Kurt Vonnegut, Sylvia Plath, Aldous Huxley.
Special mention to Daniel Quinn, who may be the most important author I've ever read and who I enlessly (annoyingly) reference.
As far as music goes, I like bluegrass, folk, indie, classic rock, grunge, blues, punk, ska, classical... Depends on context, really. If I had to pick 10 artists to forever, I guess they'd be Leonard Cohen, Jean Leloup, Regina Spektor, Streetlight Manifesto, Tom Waits, Richard Desjardins, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Pat the Bunny, and Gogol Bordello. But then there's a lot I'd be missing.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Volunteering for a month in the Andean Cloud Forest, sleeping under the stars in a small Italian village, nightly bonfires in Puerto Lopez, biking around the Aran Islands, rediscovering Montreal after being away, standing on the Cliffs of Moher and watching the waves crash below me, hitchhiking to Povalec, surviving an apocalyptic storm and witnessing a chicken sacrifice in Guatemala, camping on a solitary beach in Tulum, seeing two of my best friends get married in Taiwan, Galway Bay on a stormy night, the rolling hills of Vilcabamba, sunsets over the Pacific, rock climbing to a hidden waterfall in Taroko, lightning shows over a lake in my hometown, lightning shows over Prague castle. This planet never ceases to amaze.
Teach, Learn, Share
Sharing recipes and creating meals with people, swapping music or book recommendations, telling tales of travel and getting inspired by other people's stories... We've all got something to share!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can tell you some fun stories, maybe give you some tips or share some fun facts. Always down to instigate adventures and cook delicios food. I'm also more than willing to participate in any sort of creative project you have going on!
