Overview
About Me
Hello my name is Nikki and I grew up in the suburbs of Utrecht in a town called Maarssen(23 minutes by bus to city centre Utrecht). I worked in customer services for 3 years so I'm ridiculously good at apologising for things that aren't my fault.
I love hosting international friends and show them my culture, either through couchsurfing or randomly meeting.
Right now I'm studying International social work. I used to sleep in my car part time in the netherlands so i could go to school lol, Dutch housing crisis.
I love hitchhiking and camping on the weekends.
I hope to get my own place soon and host people again!
Some house rules when staying with me:
I dont have an extra key so when I leave the house unfortunately you also should leave the house(for instance if i have to go to work).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In short, I want to make more international friends. I would love to hear all about your culture and I love talking about mine. I heard of couchsurfing three years ago and immediately made an account. I didn't do much with it at the time since I was very busy with work and then the pandemic came. Right now I am ready to host new travellers and show you an amazing time in my beautiful country:). If you read until here please say hello to Sophia in your request to stay with me;).

Music, Movies, and Books
I like to read non fiction books about social change, such as Utopia for realists, The new odyssey and Invisible woman. I don't make any music myself (I wish I had that kind of focus haha) but I do love to listen to classic rock, hence my ZZtop tshirt in my profile pic;). Besides classic rock my favorite genre (if it even is a genre) would have to be the type of songs that you listen to when you're driving home at night thinking about how happy you are to be alive. For movies my favorites are Elisa y marcella, Une fille facile and Vicky cristina barcelona. The type of movies that make you feel like you can actually smell the air the actors are breathing.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Some of the most amazing things I've done would include: moving to Morocco and Hitchhiking all over the country with my friends, part-time living in my toyota aygo whilst studying and going on a week long trip to romania with total strangers from all over europa with my student association. Riding the iron ore train in Mauritania. Hitchhiking from Tanger to Dakar. Also falling in love with my amazing Moroccan boyfriend and doing long distance.
